What Social Life?

16 04 2010

I know I haven’t been updating my blog as frequently as I would like to but you have to know I am not as free as I would like to. I mean, how many ACCA students actually update their blogs frequently? Many of their blogs are already pronounced dead and may they RIP. And this list goes on and on and everyday more and more blogs are added on. ACCA basically kills the social lives of all their members (not just the students). Since blogging is virtually part of a social life, this explains the reason why I blog so little. However, on the other hand, twitter seems to be reviving the social lives of ACCA students. It’s like an exodus of people from blogging to tweeting. I guess just typing 140 characters is easier than writing long paragraphs of endless characters.

Finals is coming soon and after that many people will be off to their various destinations. Gonna miss them so much, these people whom I’ve known for so long. We’ve walked this journey together and now we’re parting. Hope I still get to see them around. Miss you guys!

Just a short one this time round. Going back to being busy.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

23 02 2010

The day after results have been released. Congratulations to all who passed all their papers. For me, it has been a bittersweet experience but I’m just glad I passed ‘the mother of all ACCA papers’ and don’t have to see ‘the mother of all ACCA Sunway lecturers’. Her words of wisdom is still ringing in my ears, “Believe me, you wouldn’t want to fail P2 this semester. Get over with it and out of my class. I’ll never want to see you in my class AGAIN! (well, she did emphasize on the ‘again‘). Do you hear me?!” So yeah, she’ll never see me in her class AGAIN! 🙂

For those non-ACCA, P2 is the highest level for a financial accounting paper in the WHOLE of ACCA. ACCA has always been known as an accounting course even though what we study isn’t purely accounting. If you don’t believe me, consider this scenario:

Person : So, what do you study?
Me : ACCA
Person : What?
Me : ACCA
Person : Ohh… Accounting hah? *gives a weird look that is commonly featured                     in almost everyone who hears that I study this*

Mental note – Find out why people give that weird look

So the highest paper of accounting in an accounting course, hence, the name, ‘mother of all ACCA papers’. This paragraph is just for information and non-ACCA people’s sake. If you still cannot understand, then just thank God you didn’t do ACCA :p (just practicing my consultancy skills here)

Alright, enough of ACCA.

So, I’m going to talk about food. I went to Westport, Klang with a bunch of people the other day for seafood. Initially, we were supposed to go to one of the restaurant recommended by one of them but due to some communication breakdown, they made reservations at another restaurant instead. As there were too many people going, we just went to the one where the reservations were made. I wouldn’t post any photos nor tell you where it is nor recommend it to you. Basically, the food there is not very good. I believe it was the chef’s problem. But I will tell you about the white wine one of them brought. It was from Germany and it tasted great but like always, good stuff are always limited. He brought two bottles by the way.

So everyone had only a sip. Notice how slender it is. Well, good things come in small packages. 🙂

First Post!

20 02 2010

The first post! I’ve decided to change my blog yet again. Am tired of the old one already 🙂

Hopefully, I’ll be able to find the time to update this blog more often.

Anyway, wishing all of you a happy Chinese New Year. May you all have a great year ahead!

Now I’m off for a CNY dinner in Klang.

Signing off,

Eliza
